Jazz-iz Christ is Serj's brainchild, but truly is a collaborative effort between many musicians that Tankian curated to be part of the group and self-titled album. Among others, there are considerable contributions from renowned pianist Tigran Hamasyan, flautist Valeri Tolstov, and trumpet player Tom Duprey. Additional performances from Stewart Copeland and actor/musician David Alpay and Vincent Pedulla make for a very unique collaboration. The 15 tracks that comprise Jazz-iz Christ, a mostly instrumental effort except for 4 tracks, are an amalgam of progressive jazz, electronic, ethnic and even rock elements, displaying a unique presentation of the genre itself.

Recorded with warmth and three-dimensional depth, Slow Motion Reign’s self-titled debut is hypnotic and vividly rich, brimming with lyrics and intricate chord structures as indelible as its hooks. Primarily written by vocalist/bassist Narek Pogosyan and fleshed out by keyboardist Erwin Khachikian and drummer Vigen Sayadian, the songs are largely built on piano-based arrangements rich with pictures. Although the album was recorded with guitarist Sam Babayan, the band is now joined by guitarist Rafik Oganyan. Taking a cue from '70s art rock stalwarts like Queen and ELO and the blistering attack of modern heavy metal revivalists like the Darkness and Coheed and Cambria, Los Angeles-based progressive rock outfit Bigelf aren't afraid to use the terms pop and heavy metal in the same sentence. Bigelf were formed in 1995 around the talents of Damon Fox (vocals/keyboards), Ace Mark (guitars), Duffy Snowhill (bass), and Froth (drums), and -- long before breaking in their homeland -- they found a European audience for their epic compositions, due in part to their penchant for vintage gear, complex harmonies, and over the top live performances.
Recorded in Los Angeles' King Size Studios in 2002, Privilege Of Your Company was the final release from Kittens For Christian. Produced by David Trumfio, the album is a mix of the angular, staccato guitar stylings of Neil Young and the driving bass rhythms and excitibaly anguished vocals from Hiram Fleites. The neo-new wave album comprised of 14 tracks are full of pure instinct and panic with lamentful melodies.

With conductor Werner Steinmetz at the helm, the four acts of Orca mix influences from early 20th century composers with modern film compositional dynamics showing influences ranging from Ennio Morricone to Philip Glass. Listeners are met with a mingling of sounds and intertwining pieces that are both serene and bombastic at the same time, offering a fresh interpretation to the classical art.
According to Tankian, “Orca is known as the killer whale, but is really a dark dolphin, a symbolism for human dichotomy.”
